How to disable a stolen mobile phone

Is your mobile phone lost or stolen by some one.  Then read this article. If you read this article carefully, you can see that the person who stole your mobile can't use it nor he can sell it.  Let us see how we can disable the stolen mobile phone.

• You should keep a note about the serial number of your mobile handset.  This number is called as 'IMEI'.  The IMEI number is very useful if your mobile phone is lost or stolen.  The number can be seen below the battery.   You can also get this IMEI number of your mobile number by entering  *#06#   in your hand set..
• You will see a 15 digit IMEI number in your screen after typing above sequence of characters.  Write down the number and keep it safe.
• The IMEI number is unique to your handset.  If your mobile phone is lost, you can call your service provider and tell them this IMEI number.  They will block your handset so that the person who stole your mobile number even if he changes the SIM card, cannot use your mobile number. Your mobile phone will be totally useless. 
• By doing this you may not get back your mobile phone, but whoever stole it cannot use it.  If every one follows this simple guidelines,  people will stop stealing mobile phones.
